What is a trusted contact?
A person designated by you (our client) as a point of contact, for our office, if we have any worries about financial exploitation, health concerns or need communication assistance.
Why add a trusted contact person?
If we are unable to contact you after multiple attempts, having a trusted contact person listed on your account will hopefully allow us to get in touch with you, via the trusted contact person.
How does it work?
By listing a trusted contact, you authorize LPL or your financial advisor to contact that person for the following reasons:
- You cannot be contacted due to natural disasters, health issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- Unusual requests or activities indicating a health issue or potential fraud.
The designated trusted contact does not have power of attorney, the ability to transact, or the ability to view or change any account information. They are solely listed as a point of contact for any communication issues, health concerns, or potentially fraudulent activity should we be unable to contact you.
