As the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to show off their golden colors, I can’t help but slow down and take in the simple joys of fall. This season always feels like an invitation to gather, to create, and to enjoy God’s beautiful creation in new ways. Whether it’s a comforting recipe, a new family tradition, or just a moment of peace in the midst of a busy week, fall always fills my heart with gratitude.
This year feels extra special for my family since we recently moved into a new home! I’m so excited to decorate for fall and create a cozy space where our friends and family can feel welcome. Here are my 2025 fall favorites!
Creating an Autumn Ambiance
Here are a few of my favorite fall home touches this year:
- Velvet Pumpkins from HomeGoods or Amazon—plush, colorful, and perfect for a mantel display.
- String Lights with an Amber Glow—they add instant warmth to our living room or porch without feeling too “holiday” yet.
- Fresh Mums & Gourds—I love setting these by our front door for that classic fall welcome. My goal is to see how long I can keep my mums alive each season. (Water from the bottom is key.)
Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice
The kitchen is where fall truly comes alive for me. I love experimenting with new flavors and creating treats that bring comfort to our family table. Here are a few of my go-to fall favorites this year:
- Homemade Chai Latte—steamed milk, black tea, and cozy spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. I especially love using the chai concentrate from Trader Joe’s for a quick and easy version.
- Maple Glazed Carrots—carrots roasted to perfection and lightly sweetened with some maple syrup, these make such a simple but delicious side dish.
- Caramel Apple Nachos—sliced apples drizzled with warm caramel, then topped with nuts, chocolate chips, or coconut flakes. It’s a fun, no-bake treat that everyone enjoys!
My Fall Bucket List
The best way to enjoy fall is to get outside and soak it all in. I’m already making a list of things I want to do with my family this season:
- Visit an Apple Orchard—fresh-picked apples and cider are a must.
- Go to a Local Harvest Festival—I love the craft booths, hayrides, and live music.
- Take an Outdoor Hike—early October is my favorite time to catch the peak colors along the trails. I would have to say running on the trails in fall is my favorite.
Fall reminds us to pause and be present. Whether you’re gathered around a table with family, exploring the beauty of the outdoors, or simply lighting a candle after a long day, this time of year is full of small, meaningful joys. Savor this season and be grateful for those around you, it’s a privilege to serve you!
