Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere these days. From “GPTs” and chatbots to digital assistants, AI is showing up on nearly every platform. There’s no denying it—AI is reshaping the technological landscape. As it becomes more integrated into our daily lives, I wanted to share a few ways I’ve personally found AI helpful—along with a few lessons I’ve learned about using it wisely.
Idea Generation: Tackling Decision Fatigue
Need help picking a restaurant? Brainstorming content ideas? Or figuring out how to clean permanent marker polka dots off your five-year-old’s arms and legs (at least she was consistent) after a particularly “creative” afternoon? I’ve used AI for all of that. One creative way my wife has used it is to upload a list of the foods or ingredients she has in excess and request that it generate a recipe based on that list.
AI tools like ChatGPT are incredibly helpful for solving quick, low-stakes problems. While I don’t rely on it to make major life decisions, I’ve found it to be a great mental jumpstart—especially on days when decision fatigue sets in.
Proofreading: Your Built-In Grammar Nerd
One area where AI really shines is grammar and tone-checking. I’ve used it to proofread emails, documents, and even social posts. With enough context, it can help mirror my tone and offer smart suggestions for improving flow, word choice, and clarity. Think of it as a helpful second set of eyes.
The Finishing Touch: Enhancing, Not Replacing
Sure, AI can draft an essay in seconds. But I prefer to use AI as a tool to tighten, clarify, and elevate my own original ideas. I do the heavy lifting with my own rough draft, then I let AI suggest ways to make it stronger—whether that’s refining sentence structure or offering a fresh perspective to enhance my original thoughts. It’s like inviting a smart friend to weigh in before you hit ‘publish’.
The key? Work smarter, not harder, by letting AI amplify and enhance!
Final Thoughts
AI is a powerful tool when used with discernment. For me, it’s about leveraging technology while staying grounded in my own values and creativity. We have been entrusted with incredible tools—let’s use them wisely.
And if you’re curious: AI is also a booming business. Companies like NVIDIA are investing billions into AI infrastructure here in the U.S., underscoring just how big this space is becoming. If the world of AI seems overwhelming to you, just remember that God is still in control over everything of this world. Artificial Intelligence is not outside the bounds of His sovereignty.
“For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.” Colossians 1:16
